An important feature of sealing elements is their behavior at changing temperatures. The upper and lower temperature application limits define the thermal application range of a gasket material.
The technical properties relevant to the seal are sufficiently stable within the limit values. If the temperature limits are exceeded upwards or downwards, the material loses the desired hardness or elasticity, for example.
As a result, the sealing effect is lost. The TR-10 test is a key tool for assessing the low-temperature suitability of materials.
