The NORSOK M-710 approval is derived from the requirements of the Norwegian oil and gas industry. NORSOK stands for the corresponding national industry organization. It sees its task as strengthening the industry’s competitive position with appropriate standards. This goal is to be achieved by reducing costs and increasing performance.
With the M-710 standard, the organization refers to elastomer seals for use in the offshore industry. Because this area of application is characterized by very rapidly changing pressure conditions, the pressure behaviour of the sealing elements plays a central role in their evaluation.
