O-RING tolerance calculation
The manufacturing tolerance of an O-ring can be calculated in our tool.
If the finished O-ring is within the maximum or minimum values, then the O-ring fulfills the guidelines of ISO 3601.
Use the left-hand table for the following materials:
FFKM (ECOLAST), FKM, PTFE, NBR, HNBR, EPDM, SILICONE, FVMQ, FEPM, CR, ACM
Use the right-hand table for the following materials:
FEP and PFA coated
White fields = fields for entering the inner diameter and cord thickness of the O-ring
Gray fields = fields for reading the calculated tolerances.
FEP-coated O-rings have their own tolerance calculation, as the production of FEP O-rings is significantly more demanding compared to “normal” O-rings according to ISO 3601 (NBR, FKM, etc.).
The tolerance values in the gray values in the table on the left refer to the standard values of the international O-ring standard ISO 3601.
However, there is no generally applicable standard table for the manufacture of FEP O-rings. The usual market quality standard applies here.
