Grouting

The term crimping is mainly used in sealing technology, but also in electronic connection technology (especially crimping) and pipeline construction.

The common feature of pressing applications is that a change in the cross-section of round materials is used to create a secure connection between two or more components. The compression is caused by pressure applied by tools such as presses and pliers.

However, there are also applications in which the pressure comes directly from the components between which another component is to be pressed.

#1 Definition of grouting

Pressing is a technical process in which the cross-section of a round material is changed by applying pressure. The degree of compression is determined by the percentage loss of height of the cross-section in the direction of force.

#2 Meaning of grouting

In sealing technology, compression refers to the cross-sectional deformation of a round sealing element between the sealing surfaces. This elastic deformation serves to reliably bridge the sealing gap.

Seals are divided into axial and radial installation types based on the direction of deformation.
