Based on the direction in which this pressure-induced compression takes place, two types of installation of sealing elements can be distinguished.<\/p><p>The radial seal is pressed in a radial direction. Axial seals, on the other hand, are characterized by compression in the installation direction. Radial seals can be divided into two categories.<\/p><ul><li><strong>Piston seal:<\/strong> installation space in the inner part<\/li><li><strong>Rod seal:<\/strong> installation space in the outer part<\/li><\/ul><p>Piston seals are also referred to as externally sealing, while rod seals are referred to as internally sealing.
