Basically, the temperature resistance of a material <span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text );\">(e.g. on <span style=\"color: #fe5050;\"><a style=\"color: #fe5050;\" href=\"https:\/\/nh-oring.de\/en\/?page_id=23955\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">data sheets<\/a><\/span>)<\/span> is<span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text );\"> only valid for the medium air <\/span>.<span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text );\">In our experience, many users do not know that the material temperature resistance only applies to air. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text );\">If we now assume hot water or steam as the medium, the maximum temperature resistance is significantly reduced. <\/span><\/p><p>As a guide for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nh-oring.de\/en\/heisswasser-o-ringe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #fe5050;\">hot water or steam resistance of O-ring materials<\/span><\/a>\u00a0we have compiled a table for you. Please note that these are approximate values. In particular, if your application should reach the limits of the material temperature limits, a precise test is necessary.<\/p><p><strong>Important:<\/strong> When considering the maximum temperature resistance of a material, the saturation content of the water vapor must always be taken into account. EPDM is also available in specific steam mixtures that can withstand temperatures of up to 200\u00b0C. If the steam is hotter than 200\u00b0C, the only solution is to use FFKM (perfluoro rubber).
